What is a Lexus IS F?
The Lexus IS F is a type of high performance version of the Lexus IS series of luxury sports vehicles. It was the first vehicle created in the new F marque line of high performance vehicles delivered from Lexus.
This Lexus IS F has the model code USE 20, which it was used as its model code when it premiered at the North American International Auto show during January of 2007. The Lexus IS F features an even larger and more powerful engine than the other more standard IS models. It also features improved brakes and suspension with body design enhancements as well as some more less serious vehicle changes from the previous Lexus IS models. The most notable change to this Lexus IS F vehicle is the enhancement in acceleration. The Lexus IS F features a 0-62 mph (about 0-100 km/ h) acceleration in less than 4.6 seconds. The Lexus IS F went on sale for the first time in the world on November of 2007 in Japan and into the United States and Europe in February of 2008.
In mid 2006, a series of automotive publications began to report on rumors of higher performance variants of the Lexus IS that was being tested at various stages of its development. Some spy photos of the Lexus IF S were taken of the vehicle being tested in Germany and California. These publications came out in several magazines and websites, which somewhat dampened Lexus’s attempts at unveiling an entirely unforeseen version of the Lexus IS.
Among some of these spy reports, several photos were displayed as a heavily modified version of the IS sedan which was released some number of years earlier. Lexus used German test tracks for the testing of numerous vehicles, which is why the Lexus had released so many vehicle versions were released in certain areas of Europe rather than in the United States and Japan, as most cars are.
The previous generations of the IS 430 prototype was indicative of potential future possibilities for the up and coming IS series, which included the likelihood that a new generation of the IS model could come fully stocked and equipped with a high performance V8 engine. These cars were rumored to have the possibility of a coupe and convertible version to be released in mid 2009 as well as an even more powerful convertible version of the V8 powered Lexus IS.
On the 6th of December of 2006, the Lexus Company officially confirmed the potential existence of the new vehicle that they called the Lexus IS F in the official press release. During the 2007 North American International Auto Show on January the 8th, the Lexus IS F made its official debut to the public along with a new supercar concept called the LF A. Several of these images were leaked a few hours before the official announcement of the car, which the Lexus Company did not prefer.
