Ultralight Summer
Gillian is back from Argentina on short notice. Our "Extreme Makeover - Website Edition" continues. We drove 1500 miles from Colorado to Southwest Washington to buy an ultralight. This has been one of Andre's big dreams and the opportunity was right. So here we are in Grays River, Washington, on a small farm. We became friends with the owners and are having an Ultralight Summer. We are getting to know the area and becoming part of this friendly small community. .

| The ultralight is hangared in an open barn and there is a 1000 ft grass runway right next to it. Andre gets up in the early morning and has been flying it daily. Then its down for a week as he makes modifications. The weather is perfect for flying and we spend countless hours getting to know our new plane. Talia spends many hours a week on a riding lawn mower cuting all the grass on the farm. She wears ear and eye protection. We spend time exploring the area, places like Astoria, Oregon, Long Beach, Mount St.Helens, Longview and Portland. Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon are famous for Lewis and Clark's journey to the Pacific Coast. We were able to see the historic sites and museums. The area has so much to offer, rocky coast, sandy beaches, snow-topped mountains, lush green forests, and the mighty Columbia River. The people of Grays River have welcomed us like family. We got to know them all thru volunteer work at the local computer center. |
